I have always had a ambivalent opinion of most of the Disney movies. So I restate the good idea that parents should always watch a movie themselves before exposing their children to any movie. I know this is inconvenient and an added expense but one parent at least could go watch a release of a new Disney movie before taking their young children to see it.
In the case of this movie, Beauty and the Beast, that has now been released on DVD, it is easier to either buy the DVD and watch it first or even get a copy from a friend to watch it first before you let you children watch it.
This film may be a little scary to young children (aren't all Disney movies always a little scary? This may not be a bad thing in itself). The story overall has a good moral theme.
